Consulting & strategy

Technology strategy, IT roadmaps and operating-model design, grounded in a clear business case and planned to be delivered, not shelved.

Most technology strategies fail at the handover. The deck is good, but nobody owns the first release, the budget line or the dependency on another team. Our consultants stay through the first delivery quarter, so the plan is written by people who will be held to it.

We work with CIOs, CTOs and transformation offices on platform decisions, portfolio rationalisation and the operating model behind them.

What we do

  • Technology strategy and roadmaps

A three-year view of platforms, priorities and spend, tied to the business outcome each investment is meant to move.

  • Application portfolio rationalisation

An inventory of every application, scored on cost, risk and fit, with a keep, replace, retire or consolidate decision for each.

  • Operating-model design

Team structures, ownership and governance for product, platform and run functions, including what moves offshore and what stays close to the business.

  • Business cases and funding models

Costed options with benefits you can audit later, in a format your finance team will accept.

  • Vendor and platform selection

Structured evaluation against your requirements, with reference checks and a negotiated shortlist.

  • Programme mobilisation

A programme office, delivery plan and first-90-day backlog, so the strategy produces work in the quarter it is approved.

Typical engagements

Client details are anonymised.

We consolidated the portfolio to 22 funded initiatives and a three-year roadmap. The board approved the business case in a single session, and year-one delivery landed within 6% of plan.

A mid-market insurerSixty overlapping IT projects, no shared priorities, and a board that could not see what the spend was buying.

A global consumer goods manufacturer

Three ERP instances and no agreed target architecture.

A structured selection set a single-instance target state and a phased migration plan, and cut projected run costs by a fifth.

How it is delivered

Most clients start with a consulting-led transformation: an assessment, roadmap and business case before any build work is funded. Where the scope is already clear, we run the same work as a fixed-scope project.

Consulting-led transformation
Assessment, roadmap and business case agreed before delivery begins.
Fixed-scope projects
Agreed deliverables, timelines and acceptance criteria, with a named delivery manager.
